OSUSTECH 2014/2015 Post-UTME/DE Cut-off mark, Registration and Screening

This to inform the general public and in particular, our prospective candidates that the post UTME for the 2014/2015 admission exercise of the University has been scheduled to hold from Tuesday, 2nd September to Wednesday, 3rd September, 2014.

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in SSCE, GCE, NECO and NABTEB including English and Mathematics at not more than two sittings or two relevant ‘A’ level Passes for Direct Entry.

ll candidates who chose Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa and scored at least 180 in the May, 2014 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations are eligible to apply for the University’s Post-UTME.

The University shall also give opportunities to candidates who did not choose Ondo State University of Science and Technology in the UTME Registration in the first instance but intend to change their choice of Institution to the University.

(2) METHOD OF APPLICATION
Application method is on-line.

(3) REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates are requested to register on-line beginning from Tuesday, 22nd July, to Wednesday, 27th August, 2014.
To register, candidates must pay non refundable fees of Five Thousand Naira to cover the followings:
(a) E- Practice Cards.
(b) Application fee.
(c) Post UTME processing fee.

The fees stated in items (a), (b) and (c) are payable into any of the following banks via E-Transact.

1. First Bank Plc.
2. Skye Bank Plc.
3. FCMB Plc.

For the E-Practice cards, candidates are to log on to http://www.slitiq.com
(4) REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
Candidates are to log on to the University’s website www.osustech.edu.ng and access the registration portal with the numbers on their vouchers for the registration form.
Proceed to complete the form including uploading your coloured passport photograph and print out.

NOTE: All candidates are to note that bank charges would be charged at the point of purchase of the E-Transact PIN (Payment Voucher)

(5) POST UTME EXAMINATION
Post UTME Examination would take place at the Ondo State University of Science and Technology, (OSUSTECH), Main Campus, Okitipupa-Igbokoda Road, Okitipupa by 9.00 am from Tuesday, 2nd to Wednesday, 3rd September, 2014 (Watch out for the University distribution of candidates for each day on our Website)
The Post UTME is going to be Computer based Test (E -Test) to be preceded by a guided practical demonstration for all candidates.
Candidates should come to the Post UTME examination venue with the following items:
(i) Printout of the completed on-line registration form.
(ii) Printout of UTME result.
Candidates should note that the use of handsets, scientific calculators and other electronic devices will not be allowed during the exercise.

Result of the Post UTME Exercise could be accessed from the University website a week after the examination.

Direct Entry candidates:
Candidates seeking direct entry will be shortlisted for final screening at a date to be announced later vide our University website: www.osustech.edu.ng.

Candidates with National Diploma must pass the University qualifying examinations and oral interviews. The University will set a competitive cut-off mark for admission of such candidates.

Note:
(1) All the Academic programmes of the University are fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC)
(2) Candidates below 16 years of age need not apply for the post UTME Screening
(3) Admission is strictly on merit.

UNIPORT Begins Post UTME Registration Excercise for 2014/2015 Session

Candidates who chose University of Port Harcourt in the 2014 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with a score of 180 and above, are invited to a Screening Exercise as indicated below. Candidates who chose Physiology as their programme of study are hereby informed that they could be admitted into other/related areas of study, subject to acceptable performance. Alternatively, they should contact other Universities for admission into Physiology and contact the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for further directives. MATERIALS NEEDED FOR POST-UTME SCREENING EXERCISE
Candidates are required to come with the following:
• A clear copy of Photo-card printed online.
• A Pen, and Non-Programmable Calculator.
NOTE:
• The online Practice Test is to enable candidates familiarize themselves with the actual test environment.
• Inconsistency in name is not acceptable to the University and may lead to disqualification. Candidates’ names on their 0’Level certificates and UTME results and other registration documents must be the same.
• Mobile Phones, Walkman, Ipod, Ipad and similar gadgets are not allowed into the Screening Venue.
• Candidates must apply within the Registration period as the link for the Application Form will be disabled at mid-night on 28th July, 2014
• Candidates must report to Screening Venues by 7.00am each day.
• Parents and Guardians, as well as uninvited security agents, will not be allowed into the Campus on the days of the Screening Exercise.

Nasarawa State Law Students Decline Bursary Offer by the State Government

Law students who are indigene of Nasarawa State are protesting the Bursary and scholarship award proposed by the Nasarawa state government for this year.

According to the Chairman of the Nigerian Law Students, Nasarawa state their agitation stems from the fact that the bursary has been reduced to N100,000 against the 500,000 the state government offered last year.

He said this is unacceptable by the students; describing it as “cheating”.
