ANSU 5th Convocation Ceremony Scheduled For 5th And 6th March 2014

This is to inform all Graduands, Alumni Stakeholaders and the general public that activities for the fifth Convocation Ceremonies of Anambra State University for the Conferment of Honorary Degrees, Award of Higher Degrees, First Degrees, Diplomas and prizes to the 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 graduands have been scheduled as follows:

i. Thursday 6th March 2014: Convocation Lecture.
Speaker: Prof. Chinedu Nebo OON, Honourable Minister of Power Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Venue: TETFUND Auditorium, Igbariam Campus, Anambra State University.
Time: 12noon

ii. Friday 7th March, 2014: Conferment of Honorary Degrees, Award of Higher Degrees, First Degree and Post Graduate Diplomas to Full Time and Part- Time/Week End Programme of the 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 graduands.

Venue: Convocation Arena, Igbariam Campus
Time: 10am prompt

His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, CON, Governor of Anambra State and Visitor to the University will be the Special Guest of Honour.

Hiring of Convocation Gowns:
Graduands are expected to collect their convocation gowns at their respective faculties on payment of the sum offive thousand naira (5,000.00) only. This amount covers the costs for hiring of the gowns, Alumni fees and purchase of the order of proceedings. Issuance of gowns will commence on Monday March 3, 2014 in the respective Faculty Offices. The hired gowns must be returned in good condition soon after the ceremonies, but not later than 5th of march 2014. Late return of the gown/cap shall attract a penalty .

This is to inform all prospective students of the Anambra State University (ANSU) that the Second batch of the 2013/2014 admission lists into the institution has been released for both Uli and Igbariam campuses.
Information on our desk confirmed that the the said ANSU 2nd list is out on the school website and available for checking, without necessarily traveling down to any of the school campus(es).

This is to inform you that the 2013/2014 first batch (merit) list of Anambra State University, ANSU has been released at the school portal. We hereby advise those who took part in the institution's first choice post UTME screening test and scored very high marks in both JAMB and post UTME should go to the school's notice board and check if they have been admitted. Prospective students who got admission on the merit list are also advised to check their admission status on JAMB website to enable them print their JAMB admission letters for future use.

The Anambra State University, ANSU has released all pending results of her 2013/2014 post UTME screening. Hence, all aspiring students who are yet to see their results due to one reason or the other can now proceed to go check their results. This notice was published on the Anambra State University website at www.ansu.edu.ng. The results made available are those of first choice candidates who took science subjects, and all others who are yet to see their results or have complained about their results.

Anambra State University students go on streets to protest murder of fellow student

Reports reaching us stated that there was an armed robery invasion at Igbariam campus in Anambra State University this morning. One student died last night, while another one who was shot lastnight, died early this morning in the hospital. Some students decided the best way to respond to the incident was to riot against the school and state government, blaming lack of security for their fellow students' deaths. Students say they pay N135,000 per session for new students and 107,000 for old students and still don't have security or even a functioning hospital, plus no adequatue electricity supply. The rioting students went on the streets insisting on speaking with Governor Peter Obi. The students calmed down after the school Vice Chancellor addressed them about an hour ago.
